What Does Value Actually Mean?
I’m sure you’ve heard the word ‘value’ thrown around a lot on social media, and while it is important, it is also an overused buzzword.
I’m sure you’ve heard the word ‘value’ thrown around a lot on social media, and while it is important, it is also an overused buzzword – so we’re here to break down what value actually means and how to provide it to your audience authentically.
Providing value isn’t just about regurgitating information that you’ve just learnt to your followers, it is far more complex and nuanced than that – and it involves a little bit of hard work.
Focus on giving🤗
Providing value online is all about being generous with your time, your resources, and yourself. But be sure to also line this generosity with a strategy, otherwise you’ll risk burning out and hitting content blocks. Coming up with a strategy can sound scary, but it’s actually super simple – give the people what they want!
Ask and you shall recieve📣
While no one is a mind reader, your best bet for finding out what your audience wants is to…ask! You can also find out what your audience wants by having productive two-way conversations and actively listening to all of their concerns and queries. E.g. What are their challenges? What are they concerned about? What are they looking for at the moment? What kind of content are they interested in right now?
The statistics don't lie📈
Another great way to understand what type of content is currently resonating with your audience is to visit your account statistics and take a look at which posts are performing the best, e.g. most shares, most comments, most interactions. Don’t forget to also take a look at the content that isn’t performing as well, and consider why this might be. Take notes and weave your findings into your new strategy!
The more that you connect, observe, ask questions, and stay proactive in your sharing and posting, the more information you will be able to glean about the type of value that resonates with your audience 💌
